Gorges OF Truyère AND Carladez
touristic guide
Lake of Sarrans, Angler’s paradise
Sarrans, Montézic, Goul, Couesque, Maury… reservoirs and great dams appear one after the other along the Truyère. All are rich in predator fish: pike, zander and perch are among the species that will delight anglers.
At the northern tip of the département and partially in the Cantal, lac de Sarrans covers 2500 acres set between its very steep and densely wooded banks in this hilly area best seen from the belvédère de Vezou viewpoint. This is where one finds the Laussac peninsula or presqu’île, an original and romantic site.
During your stay: taste the delicious fouace in Thérondels
Unusual: floating chalet
Lacustra is a Clévacances chalet, entirely recyclable, set on the hull of a Catamaran enabling you to cruise for a weekend’s fishing on the 35km long lac de Sarrans.
