Maison d'Or-Vert is a Clef Verte award winning 14th century goldsmith's atelier that has been restored exclusively using sustainable resources. This townhouse serves as a showcase for contemporary art and ecological design.
Overall, Maison d'Or-Vert aims to demonstrate sustainable practices and provide an immersive experience that aligns with our commitment to sustainability, community development, cultural heritage, and environmental responsibility.
This three-story timber-framed townhouse on a pedestrian street in the heart of the medieval town is located steps away from the main historic square, with its ancient arcades, colossal 13th century church, and every Thursday, the local farmers' market, among the largest in southwest France. The house has been elegantly and carefully restored, preserving the massive beams and Renaissance doors.
The quiet and secure ground floor is the library, with fast wifi, perfect for remote working. There is a writing desk, a narrow sleigh bed, a wine cellar, separate toilet and a washing machine. The first floor offers two bedrooms, separated by a luxury bathroom with large bathtub. The second floor, full of light, has an open plan kitchen with sitting area hung with contemporary paintings.
Renewable resources have been used in the renovation including natural insulation, lime-hemp walls and central heating using a hydro wood burner.
