Today, this heritage has been classed by UNESCO as a world heritage site, as is the ensemble of the Chemins de Saint Jacques de Compostelle.

The Aveyronnaise part of the Saint Jacques de Compostelle (GR® 65) covers 102km between the Aubrac and Livinhac-le-Haut in the Lot valley and represents 5 days’ walking.
Aubrac – Saint-Côme-d’Olt
From la Domerie d’Aubrac, haven of peace in the wild landscape of the Aubrac, the chemin descends towards Saint-Chély-d’Aubrac then joins the Lot valley at Saint-Côme-d’Olt.
Saint-Côme-d’Olt – Estaing
These two villages, classed amongst the Plus beaux villages de France (most beautiful villages in France), welcome you as you follow the beautiful Lot valley bathed in mellowness and serenity that are found in the ambiance of the villages (Espalion, Saint-Pierre-de-Béssuéjouls).
Estaing – Golinhac
You leave Estaing and its dominant château to rejoin Golinhac plateau where you will find mid-mountain scenery.
Golinhac – Conques
After several villages nestling in lush vegetation (Espeyrac, Sénergues), the UNESCO world heritage village of Conques awaits you, classed amongst the Plus beaux villages de France (most beautiful villages in France), the village seems to be lost in time.
Conques – Decazeville
In the morning light you will leave the mellowness of the valley to reach the former mining and industrial town of Decazeville.
