The health crisis linked to COVID-19 has led to the temporary closure of our museum since April 1, 2020.
The museum team is pleased to announce its reopening on Wednesday 1 July 2020 at the usual times (10am to 12pm - 2pm to 6pm).
The Museum will resume the same hours as those of a normal season.
(Open in July and August every day except Monday)
However, this opening is conditional on compliance with the following protective measures:
The Museum can only accommodate a maximum of 8 people at any one time...

- Visitor wearing a mask.
- Washing of hands at the entrance and exit of the Museum.
(Hydroalcoholic Gel available).
- Do not touch display cases and exhibits.
- Respect the direction of traffic marked on the ground.
- Respect the distance barriers.
- Respect the seating locations indicated on the stands of the audiovisual room.
The "Lucien Mazars" Mine Museum Association is aware of the constraints that are unfortunately imposed on each visitor and on the reception staff.

Inaugurated in 1979, the Aubin Mine Museum retraces the history of the Decazeville coalfield through 3 rooms. Accompanied by a guide you will discover the men at the origin of the industrial revolution, the major events of these 150 years of mining and steel industry, the reality of the working conditions of the miners, the different jobs that men, women and sometimes even children had, and how they fought many times to obtain rights. Traditional miners' equipment, numerous tools, corporate flags and banners, archival documents, and an attractive museography invite you to relive this great industrial epic that will end with the simulation of a firedamp strike...Thrills guaranteed!
