On its rocky bluff, the fort of Aubin, the ancient military feodal fortress watches over the city. The city of Aubin developed at the foot of that fortress and became an essential economic crossroads in the Middle Ages.
From that ancient feodal fortress we have obtained the church of the Cene, the defence tower and the ruins of the lord's residence and a house. Accompanied by a guide, you will climb the many stairs sculpted in the rock and thus discover the role of the fort and how life was organised there. At the top of the site a superb panorama of the valley and the city of Aubin is unveiled...and that is the whole history of the municipality at your feet. When climbing down you will stop at the grain hall on the former market square where its 5 venerable grain measures witness the economic vitality of the city in the 14th century. Pretty timbered houses nearby.
