The space

Originally this was a traditional farmhouse arranged around a courtyard with pigeonnier and outbuildings, built with thick stone walls and handmade slate roofs, sitting in a large garden with an orchard. It has been elegantly renovated to a high standard while still preserving its original charm. It has a south facing garden around the pool with space for outside eating and lounging, with views over the valley and sunsets.

It is situated right on the edge of the small medieval village of Lunac with its ancient church & chateau and sports hall. Lunac is a quiet village with occasional community events.

Downstairs the house has a large open plan dining area and lounge with underfloor heating and a wood stove. There is a well equipped kitchen and a separate utility room & walk in shower. A games room with table tennis opens onto the outdoor pool area. The large central courtyard can also function as a table tennis area or for other games. Four double doors open directly into the garden for easy access, light & cooling breezes in summer.

2 beautiful wooden staircase lead upstairs to the TV lounge, four double bedrooms and a bedroom with 2 single beds. Two of the bedrooms are en suite with balconies overlooking the valley. The three other bedrooms share a bathroom and separate toilet. The TV lounge has a balcony for watching splendid sunsets. There are radiators in all the upstairs rooms, and underfloor heating downstairs.

The downstairs area is wheelchair accessible, but the bedrooms upstairs are not.

There is a large garden with the swimming pool plus areas to sit and relax and a dining area to eat outside. The courtyard is more shaded from the sun and you can also sit and relax and dine more privately here, shielded from the neighbours.

Guest access

There is plenty of parking within the grounds of the house . A car is recommended to visit the local attractions.

Other things to note

This is the ideal home to holiday in if you are looking for a tranquil time in the countryside. enjoying the local area with its gorgeous villages and rivers you can swin in, walks to go on and lovely places to visit and eat out; while back at the house you can all relax together, swim, dine out under the stars and enjoy village life.

But if you are looking for a place where you can stay outside in the garden late partying, listening and dancing to music into the small hours then this is not the house for you.

While the house is situated on the edge of the village there are neighbouring houses in the vicinity and so we ask guests to be aware of this and to be good neighbours while staying here.

In the garden please do not play music or make loud noise after 10 at night or before 8 in the morning during the week or at any time over the weekend. The courtyard is more sheltered and so noise later at night etc will be less disturbing here.

If you are booking for less than 5 days we ask guests, if possible, to bring their own sheets & towels.

If not possible then we can provide them at a cost of 15 euros per bedroom.

If you come for 5 days or more all sheets and towels are provided free of charge.
