Rivière-sur-Tarn
Located at the entrance to the village of Rivière sur Tarn, the new caravan park has 18 spacious, comfortable, level pitches, equipped with 10A power points and accessible 24 hours a day.
Welcome to Rivière sur Tarn, a village in Aveyron crowned by Peyrelade Castle, nestled between the Grands Causses Regional Nature Park and the Cévennes National Park, in the heart of the Tarn Gorges, recently listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Very easy to access, the site is located at the entrance to Rivière-Sur-Tarn coming from Aguessac via the D907, close to all amenities and shops. It offers 18 spacious pitches, all connected to electricity, in a secure area with access control.
The service area is accessible 24 hours a day from the entrance, with no obligation to stay. It allows free waste water disposal and drinking water supply (at an additional cost). Recycling bins and household waste bins are nearby, and there is video surveillance.
Ideal for outdoor enthusiasts, the Gorges du Tarn starting from Rivière-sur-Tarn offer unlimited outdoor activities on land, water and in the air, including hiking on land and river, rapid descents or long climbs along the many trails, and exploring forests and cliffs, always with fabulous panoramic views!
New! Opening of the GR736, also known as the ‘Sentier de la vallée et des Gorges du Tarn’ (Tarn Valley and Gorges Trail), which is 300 km long. It starts in Villefort, at the foot of Mont Lozère, and follows the meandering Tarn River to the episcopal city of Albi.
During your stay, enjoy a canoe trip with a 10% ‘CC special offer’ on site, as well as at the snack bar/pizzeria, to eat in or take away, at the 4-star Canoe Gorges du Tarn campsite, right next door. Access to the campsite's sanitary facilities is included in the 24/48-hour parking fee, and you can use the laundry facilities (at an additional cost) from late April to mid-September.
In the heart of this unusual village, you will also find shopkeepers, artisans and producers ready to welcome you with their hospitality and high-quality traditional products.
Among them are Angélique and Matthieu (Epicerie des Gorges du Tarn), Dimitri (La Boulangerie des Grands Causses), Éric & Fils (artisan butcher), bars and restaurants, Alain Vaissette, a beekeeper passionate about honey from the Gorges du Tarn, the Rodez cheese company and its fabulous Bleu des Causses, wine producers (in moderation) from the Domaines de la Cardabelle and Vieux Noyers,
and the originality of the artisans of Rivière-sur-Tarn, who will amaze you with their expertise! The Vet'Vallée veterinary practice looks after the health of pets.
Look for them all, and if you discover new ones, don't hesitate to mention them on the platform.
Stop off at the Rivière-Sur-Tarn rest area – once you've tried it, you'll be hooked.
Millau is 15 km away.
