A merchants’ bastide listed "Plus Beaux Villages de France"
You will easily succumb to the charm of Sauveterre-de-Rouergue during your stroll, admiring its central place of 47 arcades and its streets dating 1281. You will enter the village via the fortified door of Saint Christophe and you will enjoy by the harmony of the timber framed and stone houses. Take a moment to look at the collegiate church and find the coat of arms and sculpted stones. Sauveterre-de-Rouerge's well safegarded heritage means that it is listed as a "Plus Beaux Villages de France" en Aveyron.

Make the first step and chat with the artists and artisans in the Arts & Craft Centre and visit their workshops : jewels, pieces of pottery, photos…
Don’t miss the showroom in Espace Lapérouse – an exhibition place dedicated to their work: you will be tempted to sit around Nicolas’s hand-made coffee table (only the table, no cups!) or blown away by Francis’s weather vanes…
"ART PATH IN THE BASTIDE", AN ITINERARY OUT-OF-THE-WAY IN SAUVETERRE-DE-ROUERGUE
Freely available and set up by 9 artists and craftpeople, all members of the Arts & Crafts Centre, this itinerary offers you a way to discover the bastide and its surroundings in a different light. 8 pieces of art are located in different places of the district, from the most famous, such as the Place des Arcades, to the most unusual, like the Parc Landez. To these permanent pieces of art, is added a 9th one made by Jordane Saget, street-artist and godfather of the project, that can be seen for the first 2 years of the path (2022-2024).
