HENRI DE TOULOUSE-LAUTREC (1864-1901), A « GREAT SMALL MAN »

Small-heighted but artistically tall-talented… Just like his home, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec imposes his style with strength and determination in the painting and art- advertising-poster world, boldly raising large black blocks to the rank of colour, drawing and caricature, absorbed by all his stays and his childhood in the Ségala.

The paintor’s memory is litteraly engraved on the castle’s walls! Sketched on them, he let us portraits illustrating his insatiable taste for the human comedy. He also leaves us in his bedroom, the testimonials of his pampered childhood and the birth of his talent as sure as his line. Inside the castle, numerous anecdotes are to be heard and lthographies to be admired.

At the end of his life, he confided : « I enjoyed my life in Paris, but I yearn for coming back to the Bosc. »
