PRACTICAL ADVICE FOR SAFE HIKING

CHOOSE YOUR HIKE WELL
Before you leave, pay close attention to the number of kilometres and the difference in altitude: for a calmer hike!
The duration of the hikes is given as an indication, for an average rate of 3.5 km/hr (a little over 2mph), without breaks or stops and depending on your approach to the hike: strolling or relaxation, discovery, photos, athletic ...
UNDERSTANDING AND FOLLOWING THE MARKING
The hikes presented are marked in yellow (PR). You may encounter other coloured marks on your way: please ignore these.

FOR A SAFE HIKE
- Check the weather forecast before leaving
- Stay on the marked paths
- Respect private property
- Close gates and fences after you
- Keep dogs on a lead, especially near farms and herds
- Don’t set off after 4:00pm, you should be coming back by then!
HIKING EQUIPMENT
- A topoguide, a hiking information sheet or a GPX route (make sure your phone battery is charged!)
- Good walking shoes with ankle support and suitable socks
- A rucksack containing:
- sufficient water (minimum 1.5 l per person)
- a snack
- warm or waterproof clothing, a first aid kit, a knife, a torch, and a bag to put rubbish in
- in summer: a cap, sun cream, sunglasses
And, of course, a camera or phone to record your memories of a great walk and to share on #CaussesAubrac !

NATURE AND OUR LANDSCAPES ARE OUR BIGGEST WEALTH: RESPECT THEM!
Take your rubbish away with you in a bag, respect the flora and fauna.
And above all, take pleasure while walking. Set your mind free...
