13th-14th century castle restaured in 1982 by the "Association du Château de Taurines", in collaboration with "Les Compagnons du Devoir". Every summer since 1985, an exhibition of contemporary art is presented in this exceptional setting.
Located in the inner village of Taurines, this castle was brought back to life thanks to an association of volunteers helped by Les compagnons du devoir (French association dedicated to the training of future traditional craft workers). They made true masterpieces, such as a spiral staircase with hollow core, a keystone for spanned arch, monumental portal and fireplaces...
On the strength of this initiative, the volunteers of the association organized at the castle many cultural activities in order to finance in part the work to be carried out. It was in this spirit that the first initiatives for the dissemination of contemporary art in the Aveyron department were created.
Since 1985, the castle has been hosting an exhibition of contemporary art every summer and is a real artistic place by inviting artists to seize the place.
