Coutellerie Fontenille Pataud

Fontenille Pataud was founded in Thiers in 1929 by Jeanne Fontenille Pataud. Since its creation, it has been manufacturing luxury table knives, some of which are still visible in the cutlery museum in Thiers. Gilles Steinberg acquired Fontenille-Pataud in 1994. He reoriented production towards the top-of-the-range pocket knife, by depositing the Gilles® brand with a simple principle: "Less quantity, more quality and 100% French manufacturing. "

Fontenille Pataud trains every year new apprentices and employs 8 companions for the sake of a manual and neat workmanship, whether for our famous Laguiole knives (Laguiole # 1 blade lock: security and flexibility!) Or for other traditional models like Le Thiers®, Capuchadou, Corsican knives or those of the Alps ...

The success is fast and international: we thank our loyal customers because thousands of satisfied customers in France and around the world are our best advertising.

In 2018, Fontenille Pataud made the choice to open its first store in Laguiole, at 11 allée de l'Amicale. We now welcome fans of fine cutlery and beautiful pieces, some of which are made by the Best Workers of France.
