The steamrooms of sulphurous vapours represent a unique phenomenon in Europe and rare on a global scale. Deep underground, in a region where coal was once mined, combustion produces sulphurous gases which reach the surface at very high temperatures (120°C). These vapours are cooled and fed into the steamrooms where those undergoing cures spend 15-20 minutes. The vapours are thought to be very good for treating forms of rheumatism, arthritis, arthrosis, and the after effects of serious accidents.
