Half way between Conques and Rodez, the vineyards cover some 500 acres in the heart of a precious valley. The main grape variety is the mansois, it is only exceptionally mixed and never more than 10%. The soil makes the difference by providing subtle nuances according to the location: limestone on the upper slopes, limestone scree on "rougier" mid-slope and "rougier" lower down.

Paul Gayral distils and raises traditional local "eaux de vie". They are called "Vieille prune", "Vieille poire", marc de l'Aveyron-Marcillac and Mirabelle. Le Merdelou culmine à 1100m, il est un des plus hauts sommets de l'Aveyron. Par temps dégagé, il permet une vue sur la Mediterranée. C'est de là que lui vient son nom qui s'écrit en occitan "merdellon", qui signifie mer de loin. Les vents soufflant sur ce mont, ont encouragé, dans les années 2000, la mise en place d'un parc de 12 éoliennes.

Yann is an artist glass blower with 22 years' experience acquired in a Paris workshop. 8 years ago, Yann decided to set up in the Aveyron. His clientèle is composed of individuals for whom he creates decorative objects and jewellery and businesses (perfumeries, laboratories) or research laboratories needing stills or other professional glass products. In good weather, Yann opens his workshop to visitors and shapes glass in front of the public, mouths open at the decorative objects. Demonstrations every morning from 1st July to 31st August.

The Mas Andral is a family GAEC (grouping of associates) situated in the commune of Saint-Beaulize close to Roquefort. It is in this preserved setting that these farmers rear their sheep and lambs in the best conditions. The farm also produces "la caussenarde" artisanal beer: lager or bitter, come and try it!
