The church and its twisted spire
From the château de Castelneau, all you have to do is cross the tree lined square to admire what distinguishes Saint-Côme d’Olt from other villages: its church with its twisted spire. It was built from 1522 to 1532 in a flamboyant Gothic style. Your gaze will quickly be attracted to its magnificent twisted spire, rare in France, and you will also be able to admire its carved oak doors which are the work of the architect Antoine Salvanh who was also the architect of Rodez cathedral bell tower. Each of these doors is embellished by 360 hand forged wrought iron nails dating from 1532.
