Miraculously preserved religious treasure.
A result of faith, spirit and the hands of monks who built the site of Conques from the 10th to the 12th centuries. A major monument of architectural heritage on the Chemin de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle, the ancient vaults of the abbey church in Conques (one of France's most beautiful villages) house an incomparable treasure of Romanesque sculptures, including the Last Judgement tympanum, which are magnified by Pierre Soulages' stained glass windows, along with the famous mediaeval treasures of Sainte Foy and a large number of reliquaries covered in gold, silver and precious stones.
